Boghampton is a fictitious terminal station on the south coast of the UK somewhere between Portsmouth and Ramsgate, making good use of the current crop of Southern Region EMU’s, 2-EPB’s, 2-BIL’s etc., for the coastal services and 4-CEP’s for the London services. All main lines are therefore fitted with the Southern Region 3rd rail. Trains arrive and leave for London and other stations along the south coast with an hourly service to Reading using a 4-TC powered by a sound fitted class 33/1. Set in the mid 60's/early 70’s it is close enough to London to be both a commuter and holiday destination.

Nearby is a newly established “Heritage Line” which has negotiated running rights into Boghamptons platform 4.

Listen carefully for the platform announcements and look for the photographer and his girlfriend. Note also the work gang removing track in front of the local Model Railway Club carriage opposite platform 1. Perhaps unusually the sector plate fiddle yard is completely visible to the public and attracts a lot of attention.

Boghampton is an OO gauge layout with DCC Control from a laptop via a Hornby Railmaster program controlling a Hornby E-link unit. The layout lives in the East Midlands and travels well.

Boghampton requires a single power socket and supplies its own stock table occupying a footprint of 14’ x 5’ .

Three operators and two cars, overnight accommodation over 50 miles from Bingham (Notts) please.
